Don Moen – Our Father Meaning
I was opportuned to discuss with our boss, the Chief Medical Director, in our hospital last time concerning prayer and some of the routines to communicate to God.
According to her, “I don’t see a prayer like a routine or what I’m mandated to do but rather I see it as a means of talking to father personally.
“I don’t think I pray as others do, reason because I pray as if I’m talking to God as a father I’m seeing. My prayer is more like one-on-one communication with God. And you know what? He (God) answers me anytime I talk to Him.”
Honestly, that very discussion on that very day changed my view on how to pray or communicate to God. It made me to see God more like my biological father, who when I fail or weak is always there to rescuue me. He’s my father in heaven.
However, “Our Father” by Don Moen (American iconic gospel singer, songwriter and preacher). This song is a prayer, based on the Lord’s Prayer from the Bible. It’s all about talking to God, trusting Him, and inviting Him to guide our lives.
It starts by calling God “Our Father who art in heaven.” This reminds us that God is not just a distant ruler, He is a loving Father who cares for us. We are His children, and we can always come to Him in prayer.
This song is all about worship when you listen to it carefully. It says, “Hallowed be Your name,” which means “God, Your name is holy and we honor You.” It’s about giving Him praise because He is great and worthy of our love.
Another important message in the song is surrender. The lyrics say, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done.”
This means we trust God’s plans more than our own. Sometimes we want things to go our way, but this song reminds us to say, “God, let Your will happen, because You know what’s best.”
Also, forgiveness is another key part of the song. It says, “Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.”
This teaches us that just as God forgives us, we should also forgive others. Holding onto anger only hurts us, but when we let go and forgive, we find peace.
It also asks God to protect us. It says, “Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.” This means we need God’s help to make the right choices and to stay away from things that can harm us.
In summary, this song is a prayer of faith. It reminds us that God is in control, He provides for us, He forgives us and He leads us.
If you ever feel lost or don’t know what to say in prayer, this song is a great way to connect with God and invite Him into your life. Amen!!!
Don Moen – Thank You Lord Meaning
I’m posting this very song in tears. For the past months now I have been struggling with finance and sickness coupled with the health of my father.
My father developed stroke for the past two years and it has dented my finance and my totally well-being especially when thinking about the love I shared with him when he was healthy.
This morning I woked up with tears. They called me last night for money in order to get medications for him but I couldn’t afford penny because I don’t have any money with me.
I looked up dejected, and I picked my phone to reach out some of my friends for assistance. But none responded positively to me, sighting one reason or the other.
I looked, get on my kneels and it dawned on me that my help cometh from no one accept from the Lord. I then prayed and commit the situations unto God. In all, I thank You Lord no matter what I may pass through.
With that said, “Thank You Lord” by Don Moen, is all about being grateful to God for everything He has done in your life. It’s a simple but powerful way of saying, “God, I appreciate You for all Your blessings in my life.”
The main message of the song is thanksgiving. It reminds us that no matter what happens in life, we always have a reason to be thankful.
Sometimes, we focus on what’s missing or what’s going wrong, but this song encourages us to look at what God has already given us such as life, love, family, strength and so much more.
The lyrics talk about how God has helped us, saved us and guided us. Even when we go through tough times, He is still there, working things out for our good.
When we stop and think about all the ways God has blessed us, we realize how much we have to be grateful for.
Another message in the song is worship. It’s not just about thanking God with words but also with our hearts.
It expresses joy and gratitude through music, showing that worship is a way to say “Thank You” to God. When we praise Him, we are showing that we trust Him and appreciate everything He has done.
This song also reminds us that gratitude is a choice. We don’t just thank God when things are perfect; we thank Him in every season of life.
Even when things are difficult, we can still find reasons to be grateful like the fact that He gives us strength to keep going.
In conclusion, this song teaches us that gratitude brings us closer to God. When we focus on His blessings instead of our problems, we feel more peace and joy.
Therefore, If you ever feel down or discouraged, this song is a great reminder to stop and say, “Thank You, Lord, for everything You’ve done in my life.” Hallelujah!!
